Tiny Tots

The Tiny Tots program runs each Saturday 8.30am—10.30am. (times may vary)

They follow a play training program focusing on achieving mini athlete awards. These are produced by LAQ.  The fundamental skills of running, jumping and throwing are approached through "appropriate" activities for 3-5 year olds. Emphasis is not on competition but on the development of young children and this is incorporated in play and relatively unstructured games.

Times are not recorded but athletes are given a stamp/sticker for their book each week.

Lead up activities for shot put, discus, long jump, high jump, sprints, relays and hurdles are included in the program.

A parent is expected to actively participate with each child in Tiny Tots.

Each week we try to incorporate at least one regular athletics event into the program. This gives the Tiny Tots the opportunity to try the events that the 'big kids' do like shot put, discus, high jump, long jump etc.

What level of ability do children have to be to join?

Our emphasis is on fun and fitness. Children can join with any level of skill or fitness. Children are given plenty of encouragement to achieve personal bests.

Can my child try Little Athletics before joining?

Yes, we allow new families a 2 week trial period.
